Led the infrastructure architecture and operations for a large-scale video streaming platform serving tens of thousands of concurrent users. Designed and deployed a private cloud environment using OpenStack backed by Ceph for scalable storage and compute resources. Successfully executed a zero-downtime migration from rented hosting to a co-located data center, significantly reducing infrastructure costs while maintaining service reliability. Planned and optimized hardware, networking, and storage infrastructure to support ~45,000 real-time users and peak traffic around 40 Gbps, with monthly bandwidth consumption exceeding 6–7 PB. Migrated production databases from MySQL clusters to PostgreSQL clusters without service disruption. Improved storage reliability and performance by migrating video storage nodes from Debian XFS to FreeBSD with ZFS. Diagnosed and mitigated large-scale DDoS attacks, including attacks exploiting Memcached amplification vulnerabilities. Optimized large-scale video delivery using Nginx streaming architecture and improved performance by redesigning thumbnail storage using the Haystack model.
