FAQ
Can you map any place?
Almost anywhere on land. The worldwide data has 30 m detail; some countries publish finer open data. I'll confirm what is available for your place before you order.
Can you add my GPX route?
Yes, in the Standard and Premium packages. Send the GPX file and I'll draw it over the relief with an elevation profile.
Do you ship printed posters?
No, I deliver digital files only. You can print them at home, at a local print shop or online.
What is the difference between the flat map and the 3D render?
The flat map is a shaded relief seen from above, best for print and labels. The 3D render shows the terrain in perspective with realistic light and shadow, best for covers, slides and websites.
Can I use the map in a book, guide or product for sale?
Yes, with the Premium package or the Commercial use extra. Basic and Standard cover personal use and your own reports, slides and website. Data credits stay on the map.
Can I use the map for navigation?
No. These are illustrative maps made from open data. They are not checked in the field and must not be used to navigate.
Which data do you use, and how are they credited?
Copernicus DEM for the relief, OpenStreetMap for water, roads and names, and open national data where available (for example USGS or swisstopo). The credits required by each licence go on the map.
Are the samples in this gig real client work?
No. They are my own demonstrations made with real public data (Madeira, Serra da Estrela and other peaks). No client work is shown.
