Yes and No. Most of my professional editing work was proprietary and done as part of my administrative duties at various companies. But I have included some of my recent work (product description, digital copy and an excerpt from my book) in my profile.
Can you edit a technical manual without understanding the topic?
Yes. Context is everything and grammar doesn't change. I once had an opportunity to write bid documents for an electronics manufacturer. I had no idea what I was talking about, but I knew my audience did. That's what mattered. As long as the words flow properly, everything will be okay.
I don't speak English well. Can you fix that for me?
Absolutely! My husband is a non-native speaker, so I have years of practice in untangling words. As long as I can understand what message you are trying to convey, I can work it out for you.
