I was an AI engineer for a full stack. I added LLM-powered capabilities to a microservices production environment and took ownership of those capabilities end-to-end - backend services and chat UIs through which users interact with them. I engineered AI assistant flows using structured prompting pipelines, multiple response types and conversational memory to keep responses relevant for every user. I provided resilience to the system by adding failover across multiple AI providers and prompt injection protection measures making the service available and secure to use. I implemented real-time chat using streaming with stop, retry and session resuming capabilities, providing fast conversations without any loss when the user went away and returned to the conversation. I designed an AI agent for generating content to automate manual processes. Apart from AI capabilities, I was fixing bugs around authentication and reliability, combining multiple service calls into optimized endpoints and releasing changes along with automated tests, type checking and builds. I documented all the AI and backend architecture, making the process of onboarding easy and enabling informed decision-making.
