Can I publish a board book on Amazon KDP?
KDP does not support board book format. Board books must go through IngramSpark or an offset printer. I format exclusively to IngramSpark's board book specifications.
How many pages should my board book have?
Board books typically run 12–24 pages. IngramSpark requires a minimum of 12 pages and the count must be divisible by 2. The most common lengths are 14 and 18 pages. I'll advise you if your page count needs adjusting.
My illustrations are in RGB. Is that a problem?
I will convert all images to CMYK as part of the formatting process. Please provide the highest resolution versions you have (300 DPI minimum).
What's PDF/X-1a and why does IngramSpark require it?
PDF/X-1a is a print-industry standard format that ensures colors, fonts, and bleeds are all correctly embedded for commercial printing. IngramSpark's printing systems require this format — a regular "Save as PDF" won't work.
