Both work. Ghost Pro ($9–$25/month) is the easiest option, no server management needed. Self-hosting on DigitalOcean or Vultr is cheaper long-term but requires a server. I can set up either.
Can you migrate my content from Substack or WordPress?
Yes, Ghost has a native importer for both. For large migrations (500+ posts), delivery time increases. The Premium package includes up to 500 posts; larger migrations are quoted separately.
Can you build a fully custom Ghost theme from scratch?
Yes, the Premium package includes custom Handlebars theme development. Share design references or a Figma file and I'll build to spec.
Do I need Stripe for memberships?
Yes, Ghost uses Stripe natively for paid memberships. You'll need a Stripe account connected to your Ghost site. I handle the full integration setup.
Can Ghost replace my email marketing tool (Mailchimp, ConvertKit)?
Ghost has built-in email newsletter functionality that works well for most creators. If you want to keep using Mailchimp or ConvertKit alongside Ghost, I can set that up too.
What's the difference between Ghost Pro and self-hosted Ghost?
Ghost Pro is managed hosting. Ghost handles updates, backups, and uptime. Self-hosted means you run Ghost on your own server (DigitalOcean, Vultr, Railway), which costs less but requires more setup. I recommend Ghost Pro for most clients unless budget is a priority.
Can you add a paywall to specific posts?
Yes, Ghost's native member access controls let you set posts as public, members-only, or paid-members-only. I configure this as part of the membership setup.
Will my Ghost site be SEO-friendly?
