About this Gig
Self-hosting n8n saves you the monthly cloud bill, but only if the server underneath it is built properly. Most of the "n8n broke" messages I get come from a default SQLite install on an unpatched box with no backups.
Here is what I actually do:
I install n8n with Docker on your VPS (Hetzner, DigitalOcean, Contabo, Vultr, AWS, or wherever you already are), put it behind Nginx on your own domain with a free SSL certificate that renews itself, and lock the server down before I hand it over.
On Standard and above I swap SQLite for PostgreSQL so it keeps up as your workflow count grows, set daily automated backups, and configure UFW, fail2ban and SSH key-only login.
Already running n8n somewhere else? I can move your workflows and credentials across on the Advanced package without you rebuilding anything by hand.
No VPS yet? Tell me roughly how many workflows and executions you expect and I will tell you what size to buy. I take no commission from any host.

Do I need to buy the VPS before ordering?
Yes, I need SSH root access to a server. If you have not bought one yet, message me and I will tell you what spec to get for your workload. A 2 vCPU / 4 GB box handles most setups fine.
Will my existing workflows come across?
Yes, on the Advanced package. I export from your current n8n and import into the new one, credentials included. Test them yourself before I close the order.
What happens when n8n releases an update?
I give you a one-line update command and a short written guide. If you would rather not touch it at all, message me and we can arrange ongoing maintenance as a custom order.
Can you install it alongside something else on the same server?
Usually yes, if the box has room. Tell me what is already running and I will check before you order.

Mehmud ultimately delivered what I needed, but there was a bit of a misunderstanding about what I required at one point and the delivery took much longer than I expected. The key point is he did deliver what I expected, but it took longer than it probably should have.
