Removing the visible spam links isn't enough. If the backdoor stays, the site is reinfected a week later. I clean the infection and close the hole it came through.

My process:

• Full backup of files and database before I touch anything
• Scan plus manual review of core, plugin and theme files
• Injected code, rogue admin users and spam pages removed
• Database checked for hidden redirects and malicious entries
• Vulnerable plugins and themes updated or replaced
• Security plugin and firewall configured
• Google blacklist and Search Console warnings cleared (Premium)

Then I harden the site: file permissions, login protection, admin accounts reviewed and PHP version checked.

You get a plain-English report of what was found, how it got in and what was fixed, so it doesn't happen again.
