FAQ
Should my child have an abacus before the class?
No. Your child does not need an abacus for the first lesson. However, having a physical abacus is recommended for regular practice. If your child is attending a demo or beginner lesson, you can get one later.
My child doesn't have an abacus. What can we do?
No worries! Your child can use a digital abacus app while learning. I can also guide you on what type of abacus to use for the classes.
How many levels are there?
The program has 5 stages: Junior Level 0, Junior Level 0+, Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3. Each level gradually introduces more advanced calculations and mental maths skills.
How long does it take to complete a level?
Every child learns at their own pace. The time needed depends on the child's age, previous experience, practice, and understanding. Regular practice helps children progress confidently.
Will my child receive a certificate?
Yes. Students receive a certificate after successfully completing each level.
What should my child have during the class?
Please have an abacus, pen, and paper ready. Depending on the lesson, we may also use flashcards, worksheets, mental maths activities, and other learning materials.
Can my child keep the camera off?
For the best learning experience, I recommend keeping the camera on so I can see your child's work and guide them. If your child is uncomfortable, they can position the camera so that their abacus and hands are visible instead.
Do you provide learning materials?
Yes! Rainbow Maths students receive supporting learning materials such as PDFs, worksheets, and mock tests. Additional activities may include flashcards and educational games.
