Do I need my own server?
Yes, or I can provision one for you as an extra. A 5 to 10 dollar per month VPS handles most workloads comfortably. Ask me before buying and I will size it for your workload.
Will my existing Zapier or Make workflows transfer?
Most do. n8n covers the same major integrations. Send me a list of your workflows before ordering and I will confirm exactly what carries over and what needs rebuilding.
Is self-hosted n8n really free?
The Community Edition is free with unlimited executions. You only pay for the server, usually 5 to 10 dollars a month. Enterprise features such as SSO need a paid licence, which I will flag if you need them.
Do you build the n8n workflows too, or only the hosting?
Both. This gig covers n8n setup and hosting, and I build workflow automation on top of it: lead capture, reporting, CRM sync, scraping, notifications. Send me the process you want automated and I will quote the build alongside the install.
Can you build an n8n AI agent on my server?
Yes. n8n has native AI agent nodes, and I wire them to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, OpenRouter or a local Ollama model running on the same server. Self hosting means no per task fee while the agent runs, which is where the savings really show.
Which VPS hosting should I buy for n8n?
A Hetzner CX22 or a 6 dollar DigitalOcean droplet handles most workloads. I also work with Contabo, Vultr, Linode, AWS EC2 and Oracle Cloud, or any Ubuntu or Debian server. Ask me before you buy and I will size it for your run volume.
Can you migrate my n8n to a new server or into Docker?
Yes. I move the Docker volumes, database and credentials across and keep your workflow IDs intact so existing webhook URLs do not break. Every workflow is tested on the new server before we switch anything over.
What happens if a workflow fails or n8n goes down?
I set up automatic restarts, a health check and error alerts, so a failed run notifies you instead of failing silently. The handover documentation covers the common failure modes and how to clear them yourself.
Does the setup include SSL and my own domain?
Yes, both are included. n8n runs on your own subdomain behind a reverse proxy with a free auto renewing SSL certificate, and the login is hardened so the panel is not left open on the public internet.
Can you configure n8n queue mode for heavy workloads?
Yes. For heavy or parallel workloads I set up queue mode with Redis and multiple workers. Tell me your expected executions per day before ordering and I will size the VPS to match.
