AWS Cloud and DevOps Engineer for Cost EKS and Terraform

Senior AWS cloud and DevOps engineer in Canada. Day to day I operate 170+ AWS accounts and 500+ Kubernetes (EKS) clusters, all in Terraform. I help startups and growing companies with: 1. AWS cost au...
About this Gig

Is your EKS cluster on an old Kubernetes version? AWS moves it to extended support and the control plane goes from $0.10 to $0.60 per hour: 6x more, about $438 instead of $73 a month, per cluster.

I upgrade it safely. I run 500+ EKS clusters day to day, so this is routine work for me.

How it works:

  1. Version gap check: control plane, node groups, Karpenter / Fargate, support dates
  2. Scan for deprecated APIs and outdated add-ons (EKS upgrade insights, pluto, Helm charts, CRDs)
  3. A written upgrade plan you approve before anything changes
  4. The upgrade, in-place or blue/green, non-prod first, one minor version at a time
  5. A tested rollback plan for every step, and a report of what changed

PodDisruptionBudgets and surge settings are checked first, so workloads keep running.

Not sure how far behind you are? Order Basic, or message me the output of: aws eks describe-cluster --name YOUR_CLUSTER --query cluster.version
