About this Gig
Your spreadsheet works hard. Duplicates, stray spaces, five date formats and amounts written three ways make it lie to you. I clean it up and hand it back tidy, consistent and ready to use.
WHAT I DO: remove duplicates, trim stray spaces, fix capitalization, standardize dates, make numbers and currency consistent, split combined columns, and format the file with a styled header, filters and a frozen top row.
HOW IT WORKS
1. You upload your Excel, Google Sheets export or CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file and confirm your duplicate rule.
2. I clean it on a copy. Your original is never edited. Missing values are flagged, never invented.
3. You receive the cleaned file with counts that reconcile: rows in, duplicates removed, rows out.
WHAT YOU NEED (not included): your file and your duplicate rule. Data entry from scratch, recovering deleted or corrupted data, and rebuilding complex formula models are not in this gig.
Honest note: I never delete a row on a guess. Near duplicates are removed only on the written rule you approve. If a matched group is uncertain, I flag it and keep the rows.

FAQ
What counts as a revision?
Errors I introduce (a row wrongly removed, a wrong value, a bad column split) are fixed free and never count. One revision round is one list of small changes in one message: a new sort order, a renamed header. A new file, new rule or rows past your cap are new work at the rates on this page.
What file types can I send?
Excel workbooks (.xlsx and .xls), Google Sheets exported as Excel or CSV (Comma-Separated Values), and plain CSV files. If your file is password protected, send an unlocked copy. I work on a copy, so your original is never edited.
What is the difference between exact and near duplicates?
An exact duplicate matches another row in every value after tidying. A near duplicate matches on key columns you choose, e.g. same email and date, different name spelling. Exact duplicates go in every package; near duplicates are reviewed in Standard and Premium, only on your approved written rule.
Will you delete rows I still need?
No row is deleted on a guess. Near duplicates are removed only on the written rule you approve first; if a matched group looks uncertain, I flag it and keep the rows. The delivery states how many rows were removed under your rule, and Premium deliveries include the dedupe log.
What happens to missing values?
They stay blank and are never invented or guessed. Standard counts them for you; Premium lists them in the change summary so you can fill them from your own records.
What format do I get back?
A formatted Excel workbook that also opens in Google Sheets: styled header, filters on, top row frozen, one date format and one number format per column. Files sent together come back combined as one workbook. A plain CSV copy is an extra on Starter and Standard, included in Premium.
My file has formulas. Is that a problem?
Tell me in the intake if your file relies on formulas: I protect declared formula cells, but rebuilding a complex formula model is not in this gig, and I will say so before you order. Macros are never run or carried into the cleaned workbook; if your file depends on them, tell me first.
Can you recover deleted rows or fix a corrupted file?
No, and I will not promise it. Rows deleted before the file reached me, or a file that will not open at all, cannot be cleaned back into existence. Message me first and I will tell you plainly what is and is not possible with your file.
How do you handle my data?
Your file is used only for your order and is never reused, shared or shown to anyone else. Never send passwords or payment card data in a spreadsheet for this gig; remove any columns like that before you upload, and the intake asks you to confirm they are not in the file.
What if my file is bigger than the Premium cap?
Extra rows are $25 per additional 1,000 rows on any package, always confirmed in writing before build. Files far beyond 2,500 rows, or files where every row needs individual judgment, are quoted by Custom Offer with their own timeline instead.
