FAQ
What exactly is mixing and mastering?
First I clean up the audio, and then mix the audio, set levels, EQ, De-esse, blend in the music, SFX, and make it totally pro. Then I deliver the stereo mix at the needed volume to conform to all the different loudness policies such as -16LUFS for Youtube dialogue or -24LUFS for Broadcast.
Can I hire you to mix before I am done editing the video?
No, please only send me the audio from the final edit (Sync locked), without any noise reduction or EQ or FXs on the audio.
How do I send you the audio? What do you need from me?
Most video editors send me a MP4 of the video and a OMF or AAF file of the project. Most video programs allow you to export a OMF or AAF file. Make sure to embed the audio into the export. If the OMF or AAF is less than 1meg in size, the audio did not embed. Contact me for non OMF/AAF exports.
5.1 Surround? what do I get?
When I mix for both Stereo and 5.1, You will receive back the stereo mix, and the surround sound mix in 6 mono wave files, (L, R, C, LFE, Lr, Rr). These can then be encoded for DTS or Dolby.
Dolby Atmos version
Yes! We can mix your project in full Dolby Atmos. It will be mixed on our Neumann 7.1.4 Monitoring system in our professionally designed room. You will receive an ADM file and a Binaural version (Headphones) for easy reviewing. Ask for a quote!
