CCTV and Network Technician, Remote NVR Setup and Troubleshooting
About this Gig
Your cameras record fine on site but you cannot see them from your phone. That is almost always a network problem, is fixable remotely. not a camera problem, and it is fixable remotely.
I have spent 26 years in telecommunications with VNPT, Vietnam's national telecom operator, and I currently lead a district telecom centre. I know what actually breaks in the field.
WHAT I FIX
- Camera works on LAN but not over the internet
- - Remote viewing broken after a router or ISP change
- - P2P or cloud app shows device offline
- - Port forwarding set but still unreachable, usually CGNAT
- - Camera keeps dropping off the network
- - Cameras not detected by the NVR, or ONVIF not binding
- - PoE switch powering some cameras but not others
- - RTSP stream needed for a third party system
BRANDS: Hikvision, Dahua, Reolink, Amcrest, Annke, Uniview, Swann, TP-Link Tapo, and any ONVIF device.

FAQ
My ISP uses CGNAT. Is my case hopeless?
No. Port forwarding will not work behind CGNAT, but P2P, cloud relay or a reverse tunnel will. This is one of the most common cases I handle.
Do we need a video call?
No. I work entirely through written messages, annotated screenshots and screen recordings. Most clients prefer it: no timezone juggling, and every step stays documented instead of being lost in a call.
