FAQ
What is the difference between your alpha and beta reading services?
As an alpha reader, I review your early, raw manuscript to identify major plot holes and structural issues. As a professional beta reader, I evaluate your polished draft from a reader's perspective, focusing on pacing, character development, and emotional impact to ensure it's ready for publication.
What genres do you specialize in for your manuscript critique?
I am a specialist fantasy beta reader and romance beta reader (including romantasy and dark romance). I also have extensive experience with thrillers, sci-fi, mystery, and horror. I understand the specific tropes and reader expectations that make these genres successful.
What will I receive in my Beta Reader Report?
Every package includes a comprehensive Reader Report. This document provides an in-depth manuscript critique covering plot consistency, pacing, character arcs, world-building, and my honest reader reactions. I identify what works and provide actionable suggestions for improvement.
Can you beta read a full-length novel or a large word count?
Absolutely. I accept novellas and full-length novels. While my packages cover up to 90k words, I can handle much larger projects. Please message me with your total word count, and I will provide a custom quote tailored to your specific needs.
How do I know if my story is ready for a professional beta read?
If you have a completed draft and want to know if your pacing holds up or if your characters are relatable, you are ready! A beta read is the final step to ensure your fiction or non-fiction work resonates with your target audience before you hit publish.
Should I message you before placing an order?
Yes, I highly recommend it! Every manuscript is unique. By sending me a message first, we can discuss your vision, genre, and goals. This allows me to ensure I’m the best fit for your story and provide you with the most accurate custom offer.

Tracy turned around the sample read before the deadline. What she delivered went above and beyond the custom brief. The work product was more than proportional to the sample rate. I appreciated that she created a custom job for my brief and followed the directions.
