Django 3.2 stopped receiving security patches. Every month you wait makes the jump harder: packages drop support, and the gap between your version and the current one grows.
I have migrated two production platforms from Django 3 to 5.1 while they stayed live. One was a clinical monitoring system that could not be taken offline.
I start with an assessment: what breaks, which dependencies are dead ends, how much test coverage you actually have. You get the plan before you commit to the work. Then I do the upgrade in reviewable steps, fix the failing tests, and hand back a running app plus notes on what changed.
No rewrite, no framework swap, no surprise refactor of code you did not ask me to touch.

I work on existing systems as often as new ones: upgrading legacy Django projects, auditing for security and accessibility, fixing what broke in the last release.
