Throughout my teaching career, I taught all elementary grades from kindergarten through eighth grade, specializing in English and communication arts. In the final years of my career, I served on the committee that developed the county's communication arts curriculum. Having taught children aged five to fourteen and read the same books they enjoyed, I am well acquainted with the types of literature that resonate with these students.
