About me
Hi, I’m Vivek Mahajan. I’ve spent years staring at the 64 squares, and I’ve loved every minute of it. As an International FIDE rated player with a peak rating of 1648 and a 2000 rating on Chess.com, I’ve tasted victory in many tournaments. I started coaching in 2015 because I wanted to share the magic of chess. Whether it was in a physical classroom or online (since 2018), I’ve helped students of all ages go from learning how the pieces move to competing in State and National Championships. Let’s turn your child’s curiosity into a lifelong skill. Contact me to start your first lesson!... Read more

Beyond the Board: When I’m not playing or coaching, I serve as a Chess Arbiter at international events like the IIFL. This gives me a "referee's eye" for the rules and etiquette required at the highest levels of the sport.
