Usually, I will Download site backup to my Localhost or create the Sub domain of the site and I will do update work separately here. so Your site will still live

Is it possible that after a cleanup my site undergoes changes ?
As a rule NO. The Website may have small changes if a plugin is not more supported by author and isn`t compatible with newer Joomla versions or conflict with other plug-ins newer versions. These changes can be solved by me.
Can you upgrade my 1.5 Joomla to latest version
Yes, this can be done, I would call it a Rebuild rather than an upgrade since there is no simple and easy way to upgrade from this old version and it's better to create from the ground new site using your content. this will give you a stable site
Will the design change after upgrading Joomla?
Yes, the upgrade may affect your site’s appearance due to core/template updates. Customized templates/extensions might need rework (possible additional cost).
What if my extensions/template are customized?
