I will 3d print, inspect and ship your functional prototype

About this gig
Need a physical prototype you can measure before paying for tooling or machining?
I'm a mechanical design engineer working in SolidWorks and Fusion 360. I review your CAD for FDM printing issues: thin walls, hole and clearance allowances, bosses, snap fits, orientation and supports. You approve the print setup in writing before anything is printed. The parts are then printed, cleaned up and inspected before they ship.
WHAT YOU RECEIVE-
FDM-printed part(s) in a material we agree- A check sheet: the agreed dimensions, within your package limit, measured against nominal- A fit check between the printed parts supplied (Standard and Premium)- Photos, plus the edited STEP if your package includes CAD changes- Tracked courier shipping, included in the price.
PACKAGE LIMITS
Each package caps parts, size, print hours, material, engineering time, measurements and parcel size. All limits apply together; see the FAQ.
PLEASE NOTE- Message me your file and destination before ordering.- Import duties and taxes are paid by you on arrival.- I can't check fit against hardware I don't have.- No strength, safety or performance testing
Delivery style preference
Please inform the freelancer of any preferences or concerns regarding the use of AI tools in the completion and/or delivery of your order.

FAQ
What are the Basic package limits?
One part within 100 x 100 x 100 mm, up to 8 print hours and 100 g of material including supports, 1.5 h of engineering time (review, setup, inspection, check sheet), 5 measured dimensions, and one parcel up to 16 x 16 x 16 cm and 1 kg. No CAD editing. All limits apply together.
What are the Standard package limits?
Up to 2 parts, each within 150 x 150 x 100 mm, up to 20 print hours and 300 g in total, 4.5 h of engineering time including up to 1.5 h of CAD changes, 10 measured dimensions, a fit check between the printed parts, and one parcel up to 25 x 20 x 20 cm and 2 kg. All limits apply together.
What are the Premium package limits?
Up to 4 parts, each no longer than 180 mm, up to 40 print hours and 700 g for the first print, 9.5 h of engineering time including up to 3 h of CAD changes and the reprint round, 20 measured dimensions, fit and movement checks, and one parcel up to 30 x 25 x 20 cm and 3 kg. All apply together.
What files do I need, and do I get edited files?
A finished model: STEP preferred, STL or 3MF accepted. Basic prints your model as supplied and lists any issues I find; it includes no CAD editing and no edited files. Standard and Premium include CAD changes within their time limit, and you receive the edited STEP
What exactly do you check?
I measure the agreed dimensions, within your package limit, against nominal. Standard and Premium add a fit check between the printed parts supplied; Premium adds a hand check that a printed hinge, slide or snap moves. I can't check fit with hardware I don't have, and don't test strength or safet
How do revisions, reprints and the Premium round work?
Revisions are changes before printing, approved in writing (Basic: print setup only). Premium's round reprints up to 2 parts that fail agreed checks for design reasons: 1.5 h CAD, 15 print h, 250 g. Fixing my own print-quality errors is free and uses neither revisions nor that round.
What tolerances can you hold?
I don't promise a fixed tolerance before seeing the part, because it depends on size, geometry, material and orientation. I flag risky features before printing and report the measured values of the agreed dimensions, so you can judge the result.
Which materials can you print?
I only offer materials I can print reliably, and I confirm which suit your part before you order. FDM parts are weaker across their layers than moulded or machined parts, so tell me how the part will be used.
How long does shipping take, and who pays duty?
Courier transit and customs times depend on your destination, so I give you the courier's estimate for your country before you order. Import duties and taxes are paid by you on arrival.
Who owns the design, and will you sign an NDA?
You own your design. I don't reuse, sell or publish your files or parts, and I can sign your NDA through Fiverr before you share files. I only photograph your parts for my portfolio with your written permission.
