DK Student Encyclopedia Remake – Indonesian Edition The Lead Designer is responsible for overseeing the visual quality and layout adaptation of the DK student encyclopedia for the Indonesian edition, ensuring clarity, consistency, and high educational value. Key Responsibilities: Text and page re-layout Re-designing page layouts to accommodate translated Indonesian content while maintaining clear information hierarchy, readability, and balance between text and visuals. Image adjustment and placement Repositioning, resizing, and refining photographs, illustrations, infographics, and diagrams to fit the new layout without losing educational context. Image retracing and reconstruction Redrawing and retracing low-quality scanned images to achieve clean, print-ready visuals, particularly: Maps (roads, rivers, borders, geographic symbols) Technical and educational diagrams Visual consistency management Establishing and maintaining consistent visual standards, including typography, color usage, line styles, icons, and grid systems across all pages. Print and digital quality control Ensuring all visual assets meet professional standards for resolution, color accuracy, and production readiness for both print and digital formats. Cross-team collaboration Working closely with editors, translators, illustrators, and production teams to ensure the design effectively supports educational content and the target student audience.
