What is the difference between developmental editing and copyediting?
Developmental editing fixes your story's foundation, plot holes, pacing, character arcs, and structure. Copyediting fixes grammar and typos. I do not provide copyediting. If your sentences are polished but your story feels flat, you need developmental editing.
How do I know if my manuscript is ready for developmental editing?
If you have a complete draft and readers or beta readers are telling you something feels off but you cannot identify what, you are ready. I also work with partial drafts if you are stuck at a structural level and need direction before continuing.
What genres do you specialize in?
I accept all fiction genres including fantasy, sci-fi, thriller, romance, literary fiction, and historical fiction. For nonfiction, I accept narrative nonfiction and memoir on a case-by-case basis. I do not edit technical manuals, academic papers or text books.
