I will migrate your website and database to a new host with zero data loss
Bill M
About this gig
Moving your website to a new host shouldn't mean crossed fingers and a broken checkout page.
I specialize in migrating live websites and their databases to new hosting environments without data loss or unnecessary downtime. This includes MySQL database exports/imports, collation and charset compatibility fixes (a common silent failure point when moving between MySQL and MariaDB), DNS and SSL reconfiguration, and post-migration verification.
What sets this apart is the verification step most freelancers skip: after your site is live on its new host, I test the flows that actually matter, login, forms, cart, checkout, not just "does the homepage load." For Premium, I go further with a full regression pass across your site's major features and a staged, zero-downtime cutover plan with a rollback path if anything goes wrong.
Whether you're moving off an expensive host, consolidating servers, or your provider gave notice, I'll make sure what arrives on the other end actually works: database intact, no orphaned settings, no silent errors buried in a log nobody's watching.
Send me your current hosting setup and destination, and I'll scope exactly what's involved before we start.

UI/UX and full-stack developer working in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus legacy ASP, ColdFusion, and Visual Basic. I build ecommerce platforms from scratch, in SQL Server and MySQL, and run WCAG accessibility audits and fixes (contrast, keyboard nav, ARIA, focus) on my own live sites, relevant given rising ADA lawsuits. I cover full project scope: logo and graphic design, storytelling, the website itself, SEO, and advertising. I find pain points and build targeted fixes, on your schedule and budget.

FAQ
Will my site go down during the migration?
For Basic/Standard, there's a brief window during DNS cutover. Choose Premium if you need a staged, zero-downtime cutover with a rollback plan.
What if my database uses a different engine than the new host (MySQL vs MariaDB)?
I check for compatibility issues like collation/charset mismatches before import and fix them, so imports don't silently fail on the new server.
What do you need from me to get started?
Access to your current hosting (or an export you provide), and access details for the destination host (Plesk, cPanel, or SSH).
Do you support [platform]?
I work with any Classic ASP/PHP/MySQL-based site, including custom-built applications, not just named CMS platforms. Message me your stack before ordering if you're unsure.
What happens if something breaks after migration?
Basic/Standard include a smoke test before delivery. Premium includes 7 days of post-migration support if anything surfaces later.
