Hi, I'm Alicia, a native English speaker from the UK with a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. During my degree I was constantly reading and critiquing the writing of my peers and therefore I gained extensive experience in providing valuable feedback. I'm an avid reader and I enjoy reading all genres including fiction, non fiction, poetry and essays.
My experience beta reading extends from 180,000 word novels to 2,500 word blog posts. I provide authors with genuine and constructive feedback to help make their writing the best that it can be. You will receive a detailed report containing constructive notes that discuss your project as a whole as well as diving into details such as plot inconsistencies and character development.

What is included in the beta reading service?
I will read your writing and then provide a report which outlines my overall assessment of the piece as well as notes on plot, setting and characters. I provide constructive criticism to help make your writing perfect.
Do you proofread my work?
No, this service includes a report on the general readability of the book, rather than grammar or sentence errors. When ordering I include the option to add on a sample line-by-line edit where I will highlight more in-depth editing needs. Please see my profile for my proofreading and editing gig.
Can you beta read manuscripts that are incomplete?
Of course! If you've hit the wall and need a fresh set of eyes on your work then that's exactly what beta reading is for. I can help to suggest where I see the plot going to help you continue writing your master piece.
Will you really read all of my book?
I guarantee that I will personally read every word of your writing. I know how daunting it can be to release your work into the world and I take the responsibility of being one of the first readers very seriously. I never use third party readers.
