About me

I design gearboxes, mechanisms and machine parts in CATIA V5 and SOLIDWORKS, through to production drawings. Spur, helical and bevel gear sets, shafts and bearing seats, linkages and cams, weldments and sheet metal, with drawings toleranced to ISO 1101, ISO 2768 and ISO 286. I validate structures by FEA and check the result against hand calculation. A mesh convergence study decides the number I report, never a single run. Before I quote I ask what decides the job: ratio, loads, standard, units, format, release. That is what keeps a correct delivery from being rejected over a detail.... Read more
