Microsoft Fabric and Power BI Data Engineer
About this Gig
I am a certified Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer helping businesses build reliable ETL/ELT pipelines, Lakehouses, Warehouses, and analytics-ready data platforms.
If your data is spread across SQL databases, APIs, Excel/CSV files, cloud storage, or business applications, I can build an automated Microsoft Fabric data pipeline that brings it together and prepares it for analytics.
WHAT I CAN BUILD
- Microsoft Fabric Data Pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows
- Fabric Lakehouse and Warehouse solutions
- Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medallion Architecture
- PySpark and Fabric Notebook transformations
- Incremental data loading and watermark-based pipelines
- Parameterized and metadata-driven pipelines
- Data validation, error handling, and logging
- SQL transformations and dimensional data models
- Power BI-ready Gold layer and semantic model preparation
- Migration of existing ETL processes to Microsoft Fabric

FAQ
What Microsoft Fabric services do you work with?
I work with Fabric Data Factory, Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, Notebooks, PySpark, SQL and analytics-ready data models. I can build a new Fabric solution or work with an existing environment.
Can you work with pipelines that already exist, or do you only build from scratch?
Both. I can extend, fix, refactor or optimise existing pipelines, and I can build from nothing. For existing work, please send a short description or screenshots before ordering so I can assess the state of it. Reviewing a large or undocumented existing setup may need a paid discovery step first.
What data sources can you connect to?
SQL Server, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, REST APIs, CSV and Excel files, SharePoint, Blob and ADLS storage, and most cloud applications with a supported connector or API. If your source is unusual, message me first and I will confirm feasibility rather than guess.
What counts as a "table" or a "data source" in your packages?
A data source is one system I connect to, for example one database, one API, or one storage account. A table is one distinct entity moved through the pipeline. Ten tables from one database is one source, ten tables. This is the main thing to get right when choosing a package, so tell me your rough c
How do you handle access and security?
I work inside your environment using access you control and can revoke. A service principal or a scoped account with least-privilege permissions is preferred over personal credentials. If you would rather work against masked or sample data, that is fine if its a replica.
Do I need an Azure subscription or Fabric capacity already?
Yes, or be ready to set one up. Licence and capacity costs are billed by Microsoft directly and are not included in my packages. Fabric has a trial capacity and Azure has a free tier that are usually enough for development, and I can advise on the smallest capacity that will actually carry your work
Will I be able to maintain this after you deliver?
That is the intention. Standard and Premium include documentation, and Premium includes full technical documentation plus two walkthrough calls. I build with parameterised, reusable pipelines and clear naming rather than one-off scripts, so a Power BI developer or analyst on your side can pick it up
Do you build the Power BI reports too?
Not as part of these packages. What I deliver is the modelled gold layer that Power BI connects to, which is the part most reports get wrong. I can add a report build of up to three pages as a Gig Extra, or you can hand the model to your existing BI person.
What do you need from me to start?
Source system details and access, a description or sample of the data, the tables or entities you need, your target platform, and how often it should refresh. The order requirements walk you through all of it. If anything is undecided, message me first and we will settle it before the clock starts.
