Is this truly private, will OpenAI or any third party see our documents?
Your documents are stored exclusively in your own cloud account (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or on-premise server. The AI queries happen via API calls where only the relevant text chunk, not the full document, is sent for processing. The Premium package includes a fully local model option.
How accurate are the answers, can we trust it for legal decisions?
Every answer includes the exact source document and page number it came from. The system is designed to never fabricate; if the answer isn't in your documents, it says so. It should be used as a research acceleration tool, not a replacement for legal counsel.
What document formats does it support?
PDF, Word (DOCX), Excel (XLSX), PowerPoint, text files, and scanned documents via OCR. For scanned PDFs, I include an OCR pre-processing step that makes them fully searchable. Financial models in Excel are also supported, the AI can read and reference spreadsheet data in its answers.
How long does it take to index a large document set?
Indexing speed depends on volume. A typical deal room of 500 documents (roughly 10,000 pages) takes 2–4 hours to index fully on the first run. After that, adding new documents re-indexes in minutes. The system is fully usable while indexing continues in the background.
Can multiple team members use this simultaneously?
Yes. Standard and Premium packages include multi-user access with role-based permissions, you control who can view, upload, or export. Each user's query history is logged separately for compliance and audit purposes. There is no per-seat licensing fee after delivery, you own the system outright.
