FAQ
Is Proxmox ready for production?
Yes. Underneath it is Debian and KVM, the same virtualization stack that runs a large part of the internet, with clustering, live migration, backups and HA built in. Broadcom's price rises did not create Proxmox, they just made everyone look at it.
Can you migrate my VMs from VMware ESXi?
Yes, that is the core of Standard and Premium. VMs are converted and moved one at a time, verified working, and your ESXi stays untouched until you confirm. Windows and Linux guests both.
Will there be downtime during the migration?
Each VM needs a short window for its final sync and cutover, planned with you. The rest keeps running. In most setups the move happens without anyone outside IT noticing.
Do you provide the servers?
No. You keep ownership of your hardware and hosting. Tell me what you run and I'll recommend the specs before you buy anything.
What about backups?
Proxmox Backup Server is part of Standard and Premium, with scheduled backups, retention and a restore test. A backup that has never been restored is a guess, not a backup.
Why are your packages more expensive than other Proxmox gigs?
Because this is production infrastructure work: planning, migration, verification and documentation, not a default install. If you need Proxmox for a home lab, there are cheaper options and I am happy to say so.
