Will there be downtime during the migration?
I plan migrations to minimize downtime as much as possible, often scheduling cutover during off-peak hours. Any expected downtime will be discussed with you before work begins.
Do you need access to our current firewall?
Yes, typically read access at minimum to review the existing configuration, and admin access during the migration itself. Access can be limited to the project window.
What if we don't know our current firewall rules well?
That's common, and part of what the Basic package covers. I can audit your existing setup, document the rules, and flag anything outdated or risky before we plan the migration.
Can you migrate between any firewall brands, not just Palo Alto and Checkpoint?
My core expertise is Palo Alto and Checkpoint, but I also work with Cisco, Juniper, and F5. Message me your specific setup and I'll confirm fit before you order.
What happens if something breaks after the migration?
Post-migration testing is included to catch issues before handoff. If something surfaces afterward, revisions are included depending on your package, and I remain reachable to help resolve it.
Do you provide documentation of the new configuration?
Yes, on Standard and Premium packages. This includes rule documentation and configuration notes, so your team has a clear record independent of me.
