About this Gig
I have 20 years experience in editing academic manuscripts for English usage. I have a PhD in Medical Science but also have extensive experience with written work on genetics, dentistry, agriculture, imaging studies, psychology, sociology, nursing, and other sciences.
I will proofread your manuscript for grammar, punctuation, consistency, and flow. AI-generated text can be rewritten during the standard editing process, but intentional rewriting is an additional fee. I can enforce American, British, or Oxford English as needed.
I use Microsoft Word Track Changes and require a Word-compatible document (.doc or .docx). Any text that is unclear or needs additional information will be called out with a comment balloon for review. I will answer questions and review any changes made in response at no additional cost. I can return a clean copy as .doc, .docx, or .pdf if requested, or do so after a follow-up revision.

FAQ
What file types do you edit?
Word-compatible text documents. I cannot edit PDFs.
Do you edit references?
They can be included in the word count if requested. Also please provide the target journal so they can be edited in accordance with their requirements.
Do you edit tables or figures?
I can include tables in the word count if requested. They must be in editable form (made using the Word table tool or in an Excel file or spreadsheet). I cannot edit embedded images. Comments can be left with figures but they cannot be edited.
What type of follow-up am I allowed?
After I return the edited file, you should look it over to ensure my edits did not change the intended meaning at any point. If I left comments, you can respond in the file. In the second review, I can then review any changes you made to ensure they are grammatically correct or answer questions.
