Content Editor German
Busuu • Freelance
Dec 2024 - Apr 2026 • 1 yr 4 mos
I supported Busuu, which is part of the company Chegg (a big player in educational technology), as an editor, working directly with the Busuu team on blog articles for their website. These were written in German by a writer, and my role was to review, edit and polish them before publication. This included improving grammar, style, sentence structure, readability, tone of voice and localization for a German-speaking audience, while coordinating with the writer or team where needed.
MTPE Editor German
Accor • Freelance
Apr 2024 - Feb 2026 • 1 yr 10 mos
As a freelance editor/translator for Accor, a world-leading hospitality group, I translated and post-edited more than 1,500 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for different hotel brands, such as Ibis (Styles), Mercure and Novotel, from English to German. In this context, the technical accuracy of the texts was particularly important.

Second audio check for my German voice-over (about 10 minutes of AI narration for a documentary-style YouTube video). Daniel listened to the whole file and confirmed that there were no mispronounced words, names, places, numbers or years, and that the pauses between blocks were now long enough. Clear,...

Daniel proofread a German voice-over script for me and delivered within a day. He kept all facts, names and numbers exactly as they were, and the text now reads naturally when spoken aloud. He also answered my follow-up questions quickly and politely. Highly recommended for German proofreading.
