About this Gig
**Please Read Carefully, and Message Me First Before Placing an Order**
*I'm open to working with any word count. The price specified on the gig is referential. Also, I can work with different budgets and adjust the rates to your needs. DM me and let's talk about your specific project*
As an editor, my job is to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy. I will carefully analyze each page, paragraph, and sentence to correct errors and make sure your text adheres to your specific style.
This type of editing should be done after your plot, character arcs, and themes have already been developed and finalized. Remember: this is meant to refine the text on a paragraph and sentence level. The story itself won't be changed in any major way.
More specifically, I will:
- Restructure paragraphs and sentences to guarantee clarity and fluidity.
- Make stylistic changes to develop the text's quality and maintain the author's voice (including eliminating clichés, filler words, and unnecessary repetition).
- Correct grammatical and typographical errors.
- Fix incorrect or missing punctuation.
- Work on style consistency (American/British).

FAQ
What will I receive when you finish the job?
You will receive two documents. One detailing all the changes and comments made to the text. You will be able to accept or reject them at your discretion (Track Changes). The second will be a clean version with all the changes already approved.
After the work is done, can I reach out to you with follow up questions?
Absolutely! I'm more than willing to address any doubts you might have.
I don't understand the difference between line editing and copy editing.
In simple terms, line editing will focus more on the "creative" side of your text, offering suggestions on word choices as well as sentence and paragraph structure. Copy editing focuses more on the "technical" side of your writing. It will focus more on correcting errors and maintaining consistency
I'm trying to place an order, but the requirements are asking me about something called a "style sheet." Is that necessary??
Fear not, my friend. That question is there just in case the client has one. The style sheet isn't required, so you can simply ignore the question if you don't have one.
Yeah . . . but what is a style sheet?
In writing, rules are usually flexible, offering more than one correct option. A style sheet is, in simple terms, a list of preferences on which rules you favor, and it can cover several areas, like abbreviation or number's treatment. (Do you write "10" or "ten"?)
You used to have a beta reading gig. What happened to it? Can I hire you for that kind of work?
I discontinued the beta reading gig in order to focus on editing, which I enjoy more. However, if you're interested in that kind of service, please message me and let's discuss your project. Maybe I can make an exception (no promises).
