About this Gig
Hi, I'm Elina. I hold a BA (Hons) in English Literature with Creative Writing from the University of Leeds, and I line edit fantasy, sci-fi and YA fiction sentence by sentence, so your prose reads cleanly and still sounds like you.
This gig is for short work: short stories, opening chapters, submission samples and novel excerpts up to 10,000 words. Longer manuscripts are welcome by custom offer.
At home in urban fantasy, cozy fantasy, grimdark, romantasy, epic fantasy, space opera, dystopia, and YA in all of them.
What you get:

FAQ
Which file format should I send?
Word (.docx) is best, because tracked changes and comments come through cleanly. Google Docs and .odt also work. Tell me which you prefer in the order questions and that is what you will get back.
What is the difference between line editing and proofreading?
Line editing works on how your sentences read: flow, rhythm, word choice, clarity and tone. Proofreading is the final sweep for typos and consistency. If your piece is already settled stylistically and you only want errors caught, message me and I will quote a proofread instead.
My piece is longer than 10,000 words. Can you still help?
Yes. Message me your word count before ordering and I will send a custom offer. I work on manuscripts up to 80,000 words, and longer ones by arrangement.
Do you use AI to edit?
No, not at any stage. Every change and every comment is mine. If you would like me to confirm how I work before you order, just ask.
Will you rewrite my work for me?
No. I edit and I explain, and the words stay yours. My job is to make your writing sound more like you, not more like me.
Do you take non-fiction or student work?
Fiction only, I am afraid: novels, novellas, short stories and fan fiction. No school or university work of any kind.
