I will proofread your manuscript - journal article, book chapter or dissertation - for grammar, punctuation and spelling.
I can fix any English language problems if your publisher/editor has recommended your manuscript for English language editing. I will check English usage of articles (the, a), prepositions (in, on, of, by, ...), compound phrases and idioms.
I will proofread your manuscript for consistency, clarity and correctness. I will check capitalization, scientific notation and symbols. I will check for typos, misused words and grammar mistakes in verbs.
I will proofread your document and return it to you with tracked changes, including comments for you to resolve as appropriate.
I specialize in proofreading and formatting manuscripts for open access journals, in any subject.
This gig covers a maximum of 20,000 words and 100 references per document. Please contact me before submitting your order if your manuscript is longer.

FAQ
What about document formats?
I work with .docx (and .doc) files in Word in Microsoft Office 365. I can edit LaTeX files.
What about citations and references?
I will check citations and references. I can format references in any reference style. If you are using a reference manager (EndNote, Zotero, Mendeley, …), then you will need to transcribe any changes from the Word document to your software.
What about long manuscripts?
I can proofread up to 20,000 words in one order. Please do not submit a request to proofread more than 20,000 words without contacting me first.
American English or UK English (British English)?
I can proofread documents in American English or UK English. I will check the submission requirements of your intended journal or publisher, or you can explicitly specify your preference. Otherwise, I will use my judgment to proofread your manuscript in the appropriate variety of English.
What about LaTeX files?
I can edit LaTeX files. You must provide (or specify) all required style files and included images. I will confirm the word count of the document. I can work in Overleaf, which lets me add comments to the document.
What about outsourcing and subcontracting?
I do not outsource or subcontract work to anyone else. I do all proofreading work myself. I do not want work that is outsourced or subcontracted to me. I want proofreading requests from authors.
What about a response letter or a cover letter?
Yes, I can proofread your response letter (to the reviewer/editor) or cover letter for a manuscript submitted to a journal. Include it as a separate document with files sent for proofreading. It is useful to me for you to send me your response letter even if you do not want me to proofread it.
What about an application essay or a personal statement?
I do not proofread application essays, application cover letters, personal statements, statements of purpose, CVs and resumes.
How can I reduce the word count (in order to reduce costs)?
Upon request, I will not proofread the references, and the word count will be reduced accordingly. I prefer that you send me the complete manuscript, with references, because that will help me proofread the rest of your manuscript.
Can you help me reduce my plagiarism (similarity) score?
Not really. I cannot rewrite/rephrase/paraphrase copied text, because that would probably ruin the original text. I can help insert correct citations and references.
