FAQ
What types of manuscripts do you edit and proofread?
I work with fiction and nonfiction manuscripts, including novels, romance, fantasy, short stories, memoirs, self-help books, children's books, and business books. Please contact me if you're unsure whether your project is suitable.
What is the difference between manuscript editing and proofreading?
Manuscript editing improves sentence structure, clarity, word choice, and consistency, while proofreading focuses on correcting spelling, grammar, punctuation, and minor errors. I'll help you choose the service that best fits your manuscript.
Can you edit my entire book or novel?
Absolutely! I can work on complete books as well as individual chapters. Please send your total word count before ordering so I can recommend a suitable package, price, and delivery time.
Will you preserve my writing style and original meaning?
Yes. I aim to improve your manuscript's clarity and readability while respecting your unique voice, tone, ideas, and intended meaning.
Do you provide line editing and copy editing?
Yes, I offer copy editing and line editing according to the selected package. These services focus on language, sentence flow, clarity, and consistency rather than rewriting your story or changing your ideas.
Do you edit manuscripts for Amazon KDP and self-publishing?
Yes! I can help polish your manuscript before you publish it through Amazon KDP or another self-publishing platform. Please note that manuscript editing does not automatically include formatting, cover design, or publishing assistance.
What file format should I submit, and will I receive an edited copy?
Please submit your manuscript in Microsoft Word (.docx) format whenever possible. Depending on your package, you can receive a clean edited copy, a version with Track Changes, or both.
What if my manuscript exceeds your package word limit?
No problem! Send me your manuscript's word count and explain what kind of editing you need. I'll review the project scope and discuss a suitable custom offer and realistic delivery schedule before we begin.
