I will beta read and critique your fiction manuscript with honest, thoughtful, story-focused feedback.
My goal is to help you understand how your story may read to an outside reader. I focus on character development, pacing, dialogue, emotional consistency, scene flow, plot logic, and reader engagement. I will point out what is working, what feels confusing, and where the story could be strengthened while preserving your voice.
Depending on your package, my feedback may include notes on:

Do you rewrite or edit the manuscript?
This gig focuses on beta reading and critique. I may point out grammar, punctuation, wording, or line-level concerns when I notice them, but I do not rewrite the manuscript or provide full line editing unless that service is discussed separately.
What genres do you accept?
I accept most fiction genres, including fantasy, science fiction, romance, mystery, humor, literary fiction, paranormal, drama, and character-focused stories. If your story contains heavy taboo, extreme gore, or explicit sexual content, please message me first.
Do you accept AI-generated writing?
No. This service is intended for writers developing their own original fiction. I do not accept AI-generated work being passed off as original writing, plagiarized work, or prompt-based stories submitted as original manuscripts.
What file types do you accept?
I prefer Word documents or Google Docs with commenting access. PDF files are acceptable for beta reading, but they may limit my ability to leave specific notes directly on the manuscript.
What counts as a revision?
Revisions apply to the feedback report only. You may request clarification or expansion on my critique notes. Revisions do not include rewriting the manuscript, editing a new draft, or reviewing additional material.
Will you proofread my story?
I may note grammar, spelling, punctuation, or repeated wording issues when I see them, but this gig is primarily for beta reading and story critique. Full proofreading may be offered as a separate service later.
Will you tell me if you dislike something?
Yes, but respectfully. My feedback is honest and constructive. I will point out what is not working, explain why it may affect the reader, and offer practical suggestions when possible.
Can I send only part of my story?
Yes. You may send a chapter, scene, short story, or excerpt. If the excerpt needs context, you can either message me a brief synopsis before ordering or include the synopsis with the manuscript. Any synopsis included in the submitted document counts toward the total word count.
Can you review a revised draft later?
Yes, but a revised draft counts as a new order because it requires a new read-through. Revisions for this gig apply only to clarification or expansion of the feedback report.
Do you review school assignments or class writing?
I can provide feedback on creative writing assignments, workshop pieces, or original fiction written for a class. I do not complete, rewrite, or heavily edit academic assignments in a way that would violate school policies. My feedback is meant to help you revise and understand your own work.
