I keep Linux servers running for small businesses. Every day, in production, not as a hobby.
WHAT I DO
- Server setup from scratch: Ubuntu, Debian, RHEL. Hardened, firewalled, monitored
- Proxmox VE and VMware ESXi: install, ZFS storage, VM migration between hosts
- Docker and docker compose deployments
- Backups that are actually tested. I restore them before I hand the server back
- Databases: MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL. Tuning, repair, recovery after crashes
- Troubleshooting: boot failures, full or corrupted filesystems, broken services, dead databases
HOW I WORK
You give me SSH access and describe the problem. I diagnose before I touch anything, tell you what I found and what I intend to do, and only then act. At the end you get a short written report: what was wrong, what I changed, and how to stop it happening again.
I do not run scripts I have not read on production systems, and I do not fix things by reinstalling them.
Based in Italy, available evenings and weekends CET. In practice that often means I can start the same day you write.

FAQ
Do you need root access?
Yes, SSH with sudo rights. If your policy does not allow it, I can work with a dedicated user and a documented list of the commands I need.
What if you cannot fix it?
I tell you within the first hour of diagnosis, before doing any work, and we cancel the order. I would rather lose one order than sell you a guess.
Can you work on a live production server?
Yes, that is most of what I do. I take a snapshot or a backup first whenever the platform allows it, and I tell you in advance if a restart is needed.
Which time zone are you in?
CET. I work mostly evenings and weekends, so I overlap with Europe, the Middle East and the US morning.
