What information do you need to reverse engineer my part?
Please provide as much information as available, such as dimensions, photos from multiple angles, sketches, existing drawings, CAD files, STL/OBJ files or 3D scan data. The quality and completeness of the references directly affect the achievable accuracy.
Can you reverse engineer a physical part from photos?
Yes, but photos alone usually cannot provide exact dimensions. For an accurate engineering model, I will also need key measurements or another reliable dimensional reference.
Can you convert an STL, OBJ or 3D scan into an editable CAD model?
Yes, depending on the mesh quality and geometry. I can reconstruct suitable mesh/scan references as editable CAD geometry. Please send complex meshes or scan data before ordering so I can evaluate the required work.
Will I receive an editable parametric CAD model?
Yes, when appropriate for the project. I can provide editable SolidWorks or CATIA source files as well as neutral formats such as STEP, IGES or STL according to your requirements.
Can you also create manufacturing drawings?
Yes. Technical and manufacturing drawings can be added when required, including dimensions, tolerances, section views and other manufacturing information based on the agreed scope.
Can you reverse engineer assemblies or multiple parts?
Yes, but assemblies and multi-part projects vary significantly in complexity. Please contact me before ordering so I can review the number of components, available references and required deliverables.
