About this Gig
Not sure where to turn for taking on the whole thing? Welcome!
This gig was created with those in mind who dream of feedback regarding the perceptions and experience of a beta reader through running commentaries, a reader report letter, and ongoing messaging discussions over connotation and direction, together with an editor who will be attentive to line-by-line editing (depth depending on the selected level) for intended style and tone, copy editing those pesky inconsistencies and technical craft aspects, and sweeping up dropped punctuation and mutated words. Multiple persons have inquired into this aspect of my skill set, and so here it is - all that I am at my current experience in the craft of writing (and reading!).
I've been helping family and friends as their walking encyclopedia and editor for written communications since my first baby tooth fell out. I haven't always followed the above steps in order, but it's valuable to have a vision of where any story is going when trying to craft something good, call what is good to become great, or elevate great to sublime.
If you're looking for smaller steps, see my other gigs for specific tasks. This baby's got it all.

FAQ
Has she seen my order yet?
I may have seen the order, but I may not be in a position to respond. This freelancer also has more traditional jobs each day.
What is the correct sequence of editing?
Book editing starts with developmental editing, which looks at whole experience and notices where and how story elements are working and where they are not contributing. Line editing then proceeds through paragraphs and sentences. Copy editing ensures technical correctness. Proofreading cleans up.
What other gigs is she mentioning?
On my profile page under 'Gigs' I also offer as single-tasks beta-reading, proofreading and copy editing, writing advice, and a workbook lesson series under development.
Actually, I have a different question.
Please message me so that we can discuss your interesting query or satisfy your curiosity.
What's the deal with all the gig extras?
The offered extras for this gig are intended as an a la carte option for the basic package.
Are these prices serious?
Editing takes time, wear and tear on devices, electric power, internet, and the best thinking brain. According to the Editorial Freelancer Association's Editoral Rate chart for 2020, the average rates are: developmental editing, 3 cents per word; line editing, 4 cents per word; copyediting, 2 cents.
