FAQs
When should Milestones be used?
We recommend using Milestones for longer projects that allow for more complexity in their smaller steps. Milestones offer your buyers reduced risk in the shape of “motivators” – per-task payments giving you the incentive to keep up the good work.
---
Can I offer Milestones for all my gigs?
For basic packages over $100 offered on your Gig page, you can offer Milestones. Please note they are only available in selected categories. You can offer Milestones for any Gig over $100 in a custom offer.
---
How can my buyers know I offer Milestones?
Add Milestones to your Gig pages. This way buyers can easily purchase Milestones in a click.
---
When do I get paid?
Sellers are paid once each Milestone is completed. In the past, sellers were paid once an entire order was marked as completed, however, this is no longer the case and sellers are reimbursed per milestone in each order.
---
How and when are buyers charged?
The buyers will be charged for the first Milestone when placing the order. Once a milestone is approved and the buyer initiates the next milestone, the associated payment will be made.
---
Can a Milestone order be canceled or stopped?
Yes. A Milestone within an order or the whole order can be canceled through the Resolution Center or through Customer Support, for valid reasons. Note that even if a Milestone order has been canceled but at least one Milestone was completed in the order, the order will still be considered as completed.
If the buyer prefers, they can also choose to stop a Milestone order. This does not cancel the previous delivery. However, it stops the order from continuing to the next Milestone. Once the buyer stops the order, they will not be able to resume it. The seller will be paid for the completed Milestones after the order is marked as completed.
---
Will stopping a Milestones order affect my seller metrics?
Once a Milestones order is stopped it's not considered a cancellation so it won't affect your seller metrics.
---
Can I use Milestones and Subscriptions together?
No. You cannot combine Milestones and Subscriptions in the same Gig. We recommend Milestones for more complex projects. If you’re working with your buyer on an on-going service, we recommend you offer Subscriptions instead. ---
