What types of children's books do you edit?
I can work with picture books, early readers, children's stories, and other children's-book manuscripts. If your project has unusual requirements, please contact me before ordering.
Do you make the language appropriate for children?
Yes, when included in the selected package and when the intended age range is provided. I can review clarity, natural phrasing, readability, repetition, and vocabulary with the target audience in mind.
Will you rewrite my story?
No. The Premium package can include rewriting of problematic sentences or passages when necessary for clarity, but it does not include ghostwriting or a complete rewrite of the manuscript.
Do you provide developmental editing?
No. This gig focuses on proofreading and sentence-level editing.
Can you edit dialogue?
Yes. I can check dialogue punctuation, consistency, clarity, and natural sentence flow within the scope of the selected package.
Would you preserve my writing style?
Yes. My goal is to improve clarity and correctness without replacing your individual voice.
What file should I send?
Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) is preferred because it allows edits and comments to be clearly shown. If your manuscript is only available in another format, please contact me first.
Do you check facts or plagiarism?
No. Fact checking and plagiarism checking are not included in this gig.
What if my book is longer than the package limit?
Please contact me before ordering. Additional words or a custom offer can be arranged depending on the manuscript and the depth of editing required.
Which English do you use?
American English or British English are both possible. Please specify your preference when ordering. If no preference is provided, I will follow the manuscript's existing convention when it is consistent.
