About this gig
I reverse engineer your part or 3D scan and rebuild it into a clean, accurate 3D model you can actually use.
Send me your 3D scan, STL, mesh, or clear photos with key dimensions or mail me the physical part and I'll 3D scan it myself (Germany/EU). Either way, you get a cleanly rebuilt model, made with real engineering intent, not just an auto-traced surface.
WHAT YOU GET
- Basic: a clean, watertight STL ready to 3D print or use as-is.
- Standard & Premium: a STEP file plus STL
Parametric STEP applies to mechanical parts. Organic or freeform shapes (anatomical, artistic, scanned surfaces) are delivered as a clean, watertight mesh.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Send your scan / mesh / STL, or photos + key dimensions or mail the part for scanning (message me first).
2. I confirm the scope and what's realistically achievable, upfront no surprises.
3. You get clean files, ready to print, modify, or manufacture.
4. If you send me a product, the delivery time begins upon its arrival.

We're Protoverse Engineering, a small engineering company in Germany. We do 3D scanning, reverse engineering and CAD, rebuilding existing parts as clean, editable data, and turning ideas into models that can actually be manufactured.
A scanner plus engineering judgement is the reason why a part we model fits when it's printed, instead of almost fitting.
You get STEP, STL and dimensioned drawings. FDM printing on request for parts we've modelled ourselves. And if something isn't worth doing, we'll tell you before you order.

Q: What do you need from me?

Q: What's the difference from your CAD modeling gig?
A: This gig recreates an existing part or shape. The CAD gig designs a new part from an idea or sketch. If it already exists, this is the right one.
Q: How accurate will it be?
A: Very accurate from a scan or the physical part. Minor deviations are to be expected due to the nature of the process. From photos only, I'll tell you upfront what's realistic.
Q: Is my part and data kept confidential?
A: Yes. Your part, files, and concept are treated as strictly confidential and never shared.
Q: What do I get back — STL or STEP?
A: Basic delivers a clean, watertight STL. Standard and Premium deliver an editable, parametric STEP file plus STL. Organic or freeform shapes come as a clean mesh.
Q: Are revisions included?
A: Premium includes one revision. Need more, or a revision on Basic/Standard? Just add the revision extra.
