Copy editing is the line-level pass that catches grammatical errors, awkward sentences, unclear phrasing, word repetition, and the small things that pull a reader out of the story. What's the difference between copy editing and proofreading?
Copy editing covers grammar, clarity, flow, and consistency throughout. Standard and Full Polish packages include a final proofread pass. For a standalone proofread only, message me for a custom quote.
Will you rewrite my sentences?
I may suggest alternatives for unclear sentences via tracked changes, but the final choice is always yours. Your voice stays intact.
What if I disagree with an edit?
Tracked changes means you accept or reject each edit individually. One round of author queries is included if you want to discuss specific changes.
Do you do a second pass if I revise after your edit?
A second pass on a substantially revised manuscript is a new order. Minor questions about edits are covered in the included author query round.
What file format do you need?
Microsoft Word (.docx) or Google Docs accepted. Please send a clean draft without existing tracked changes or suggestions already in the document.
Does my manuscript contain explicit content?
Romance and YA often include mature themes. I edit professionally and without judgment. Please note explicit content when ordering so I can confirm it's a fit.
