I will proofread your academic journal article

I am an editor with 10+ years experience of working as an academic in Higher Education. With a PhD in English Literature I have an excellent eye for detail, performing an accurate edit that preserves your writerly voice. I have an established role at an academic journal in area studies, proofreading and copyediting articles ahead of typesetting.

Proofreading checks include:

• Spelling, grammar and punctuation.
• Consistency of formatting, layout and style (including headings, font size and type, and spacing).
• Ensuring words are used correctly and with the appropriate spelling (e.g. distinguishing principal from principle).
• Ensuring that referencing is formatted accurately and follows the journal's preferred style guide.
• I will also highlight sentences that might need rephrasing for clarity.

I will deliver two Word documents, one with track changes showing, and a 'clean' copy.
