What do you need from me before you start?
Please provide your final manuscript, preferred trim size, publishing platform, and any style references or special requirements. DOCX is preferred for manuscripts. If you're unsure about trim size or specifications, message me before ordering.
Do you format books for Amazon KDP?
Yes. I can prepare professionally formatted interiors and print-ready PDF files according to the specifications required for your selected KDP book size. Please tell me your trim size and intended format before I begin.
Can you format paperback and hardcover interiors?
Yes. I can typeset interiors for paperback and hardcover books. If the same interior specifications work for both editions, the files may be prepared accordingly. Different sizes or substantially different layouts may require additional work.
Can you work with images, tables, footnotes, or other complex content?
Yes, depending on the manuscript. Books containing many images, tables, footnotes, callout boxes, charts, lists, or complex page elements require more layout work. Please send the manuscript before ordering so I can review the complexity.
Will you provide the Adobe InDesign source file?
Yes, an editable Adobe InDesign source file can be provided when included in your package or purchased as an extra. Please ask before ordering if the source file is important to your publishing workflow.
Does this gig include manuscript editing or proofreading?
No. This gig focuses on book formatting, interior layout, and typesetting. Your manuscript should ideally be edited and finalized before typesetting. If your manuscript still needs proofreading or editing, I offer that as a separate service.
Can I make changes after the book has been typeset?
Yes, reasonable formatting revisions within the original manuscript and agreed scope are covered by your package. New chapters, major rewrites, substantial text changes, or new content added after typesetting may require an additional fee.
How is the page count calculated?
Final page count depends on word count, trim size, font choices, spacing, images, and other layout decisions. For larger manuscripts, send me your manuscript or word count before ordering so I can confirm the appropriate package and price.
Do you also create ebooks or EPUB files?
Yes. Ebook/EPUB formatting can also be provided when agreed before ordering. Because print interiors and reflowable ebooks have different formatting requirements, please tell me which formats you need
