What's the difference between copyediting and proofreading?
Copyediting fixes grammar, punctuation, consistency, and style before layout. Proofreading is the final check after formatting/design (usually done on a PDF) to catch leftover typos or layout errors. Most manuscripts do copyediting first, proofreading last.
Will you change my writing style or voice?
No! Copyediting aims to preserve your voice and your style at all costs. If I fix grammar, clarity, and consistency issues, I commit to doing so without altering your tone, unless something is genuinely confusing. Bigger style changes are your call!
What will the final deliverable look like?
You will receive a marked-up manuscript with tracked changes plus margin comments explaining edits or flagging questions. I also provide a clean copy and a style sheet (where appropriate) to document decisions.
