What software do you use to edit audio?
I use Izotope RX8 Audio Editor. This is an audio noise reduction software that is considered to be industry standard.
Can you cleanup audio files that sound terrible or make me sound better?
There's only so much a software can do, so keep that in mind. I can cleanup audio's to a certain extent even if they sound bad to begin with, but keep in mind performance is still key when listening to it in the end.
