Hello! I'm Yuka, an English major at Cornell. My essay was nominated for a university-wide writing prize, and I've written for Cornell Admissions' official blog. I also work on campus as a REACH tutor and Big Red Ambassador.

I got into this because I remember what it felt like to write my own application essays - how personal it is, how hard it is to sound genuine and not performative while still conveying qualities an admissions officer would love. If that's where you are right now, I fully understand, and fully welcome you to send me whatever you have!

When I edit your essay, I'll tell you how I feel as a reader, with some craft notes. I know how lonely the essay-writing process gets. You work on something personal for hours, you lose the ability to tell if it's any good. I'm here to help relieve your stress.
